POSITION: IGNITE CAMPS ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

Reports to: Ignite Event Coordinator 
Employment Term/Hours:  

  • April 20-June 26 – 10 weeks (35 hours/week) We anticipate multiple positions being available if we receive government summer grant funding.
  • Jun 15-Aug 28 – 11weeks (35 hours/week) We anticipate multiple positions being available if we receive government summer grant funding.

The FacetoFace Ignite Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative and organizational support to the Ignite Event Coordinator. This role carries out delegated tasks that contribute to the planning, preparation, and smooth operation of Ignite Camps, ensuring details are completed with accuracy and excellence. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the Ignite Event Coordinator through regular check-ins and guidance.  

Primary Ignite Duties and Responsibilities

Registration & Participant Support 

Carry out assigned tasks related to processing registrations, including confirming details with parents/participants, registrations communications, and updating master registration spreadsheets. 

General Administrative Assistance 

Support all administrative aspects of camp as delegated by the Ignite Coordinator, including maintaining accurate files, assisting with schedule and logistics preparation, and ensuring required documentation is completed or supported in their completion. 

Budget & Financial Task Support 

Assist in tracking the working budget for assigned camps, processing simple financial tasks (such as submitting receipts, and other post-camp wrap-up items), and making approved purchases for camp supplies.

Communication & Follow-Up Execution 

Send assigned communications such as camp info, evaluations, lost-and-found notices; support the gathering and distribution of testimonies, photos, and videos; and update digital files accordingly.  

Supplies, Materials & Post-Camp Organization 

Make or purchase needed materials (e.g., name tags, signs, program supplies, Mass items); reorganize digital files after each camp; and provide a final written summary of all completed tasks for assigned camps. 

Job Specifications & Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel. 
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to prioritize tasks effectively. 
  • Collaborative and able to work with others to complete large-scale projects. 

Working Conditions

  • Primarily working within the FacetoFace office.
  • Consistent office days and hours are preferred. These will be coordinated with the Executive Director.
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required.
  • When overtime occurs, time-in-lieu will be given.

Job Purpose & Summary

The FacetoFace Ignite Operations Team Member is a highly trusted, flexible support role that assists the Ignite Camp Event Coordinator in the preparation and execution of all operational aspects of Ignite Camps. Team members carry out specific roles and tasks assigned by the Ignite Coordinator, which may vary from camp to camp based on needs and individual strengths. This role may involve supporting camp environments, logistical systems, activity preparation, and direct camper ministry as directed, always delegated by the Event Coordinator. 

POSITION: IGNITE CAMPS OPERATIONS TEAM MEMBER 

Reports to: Ignite Event Coordinator 
Employment Term: 10 Weeks 
June 15 – Aug 21, 2026 – 10 Weeks (35 hours/week) We anticipate multiple positions being available if we receive government summer grant funding.

Primary Ignite Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with Camp Setup & Preparation 

Support the preparation of camp environments, materials, and spaces, ensuring all elements needed for sessions, activities, etc. are ready. Contribute to the implementation of Ignite Camp, helping the Ignite Coordinator anticipate, plan, and prepare for all aspects. 

Organize & Maintain Supplies  

Help organize, track, and maintain equipment, supplies, and inventories. Assist with sourcing, preparing, or purchasing operational supplies as needed to support smooth execution of Ignite Camp. 

Support On-Site Camp Operations 

Serve as a highly trusted, flexible Team Member during camp, carrying out the specific roles delegated by the Ignite Coordinator. Each team member’s responsibilities will be clearly defined for the camp but may vary between camps depending on needs and individual strengths. Operations Team Members will step into a variety of assigned roles/tasks, adapting as directed. 

Collaborate with Volunteers & Team Members  

Work closely with volunteers and other Operations Team Members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently, providing guidance or delegating minor responsibilities where appropriate, while remaining fully accountable to the Ignite Coordinator. 

Post-Camp Tasks  

Assist in cleaning, sorting, and reorganizing materials and equipment. Support post-camp reporting, documentation, and inventory updates. Contribute insights or feedback to improve future camps. 

Job Specifications & Qualifications

  • Work will be conducted between the FacetoFace office in Saskatoon and on-site at camp.

Full-Time Retreat Leader

Retreat Leader Job Description

Job Purpose & Summary

The FacetoFace Retreat Leader is responsible for helping plan and facilitate FacetoFace events, such as School Retreats, contracted events, Depths Retreats, and the United Conference, and be involved in summer programming. A large portion of the Retreat Leader role is planning and facilitating the FacetoFace School Retreats with another Retreat Leader.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

FacetoFace Staff Member

The Retreat Leader will share the same vision and values to live out the FacetoFace culture.

  • Participating in the ministry’s office rhythms and meetings.
  • Adhering to the FacetoFace Policy Manual, including following the Diocese of Saskatoon Covenant of Care.
  • Establishing good relationships with ministry supporters, Dioceses, and other organizations.
  • Helping with other areas of the ministry to fulfill the overall vision.

Retreat Leader

   Co-leading FacetoFace School Retreats

  • Creating and preparing the theme, detailed content, and supplies for each school year’s retreat.
  • Co-leading around 65 FacetoFace School Retreats across Western Canada each school year.
    • This includes travelling to different areas and spending the week there leading the retreats. A small travel stipend will be paid for each night away from home for work.
    • Retreat days include setting up, leading 5 sessions during the school day, and tear down.
    • Most of these retreats are for elementary schools, K-6 or K-8. Retreats are high energy, fun, with a clear simple gospel message to foster initial encounters with Jesus and positive faith experiences.


   Assist in the leading of other FacetoFace Retreats and Events

  • Preparing for events as needed.
  • Helping lead other ministry events, such as the United Conference, weekend Retreats, FacetoFace Nights, Anchor Program, and WORD Bible Studies.

Helping facilitate FacetoFace summer programs

  • Taking on a leadership role at one of the summer programs, like Family Life Conference, Ignite, Ignite Junior, or Road Trip.
  • Involvement throughout the year in the planning and preparation of the summer programs.
  • Working with a team to facilitate the event(s) on-site.

Job Specifications & Qualifications

   Applicant requirements:

  • Applicant must be willing to relocate if not already residing in Saskatoon. Relocation stipend available.
  • Due to Retreat Leaders needing to share hotel rooms with other male staff, this position is only open to male applicants.


   Application qualifications:

  • Actively striving to grow in Christ-like character, including Sacramental life and consistent daily prayer.
  • A desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and a trusting reliance on God to yield the hoped-for results.
  • Experience leading retreats and doing ministry.
  • Lives out the FacetoFace values of humility, excellence, and Christ-centred relationships.
    • Teachable.
    • Ability to adapt easily and quick on their feet.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Inspires youth to follow and respond through his words and actions.
    • Fosters teamwork: Works proficiently with a co-leader.
  • Adequate knowledge of, and ability to express, the teachings of the Church.
    • A base level knowledge of Catholicism is necessary, but formal theology education is not required.
  • Technologically apt and proficient with computers.
  • Creative and innovative.
  • Musical ability is an asset, but not required.

Working Conditions

  • Approximately 11 weeks (Monday to Friday) on the road leading School Retreats. Other evening and weekend events as required.
  • When not leading events, primarily working from the FacetoFace office in Saskatoon, SK.
    • Personal workstation provided in Retreat Leaders office.
  • When overtime occurs, time-in-lieu will be given.

Income, Hours, Benefits, and Application Details

   Income

  • Employee will work 37.5 hours per week at a wage comparable to the Diocese of Saskatoon salary grid.
    • Detailed salary information can be provided upon request.
  • Employee will be paid a monthly salary.
  • Employee will receive a travel stipend of $50/night away from home when on the road leading events.

 

   Benefits

  • 3 weeks holidays/year based on full time hours.
  • After the three-month probationary period, the employee will have 50% of basic health and dental group benefits plan covered by FacetoFace Ministries.
  • Following the first year, employees will join a 3.5% matching retirement savings plan, and after three years this increases to 5% matching.

Each FacetoFace Retreat Leader is responsible for helping plan and facilitate FacetoFace events, such as School Retreats, contracted events, Depths Retreats, and the United Conference, and be involved in summer programming. A large portion of the Retreat Leader role is planning and facilitating the FacetoFace School Retreats with another retreat leader.

Noteworthy:

  • We are looking for a youth ministry professional who will view this job as a career.
  • The other three retreat leaders are all married and find the wage and lifestyle sustainable in their vocation.
  • Road life schedule: Retreat leaders are away from home traveling and leading retreats Monday to Friday for one out of every three weeks; they are gone one week and home for two, repeating this through the school year. As well, some weekends have retreats that would require them to be gone. Days-in-lieu are given after those events.
